The groups of company’s CJSC “Zakhidna Kompaniya “Dakor” sum up the main achievement in season 2008.
Last year laid a lot of new beginnings and projects for the company. In particular, the new elevator was built and we started its work in 2008. It gives at once the new quality in agrarian sector for “Dakor” the company has got an independent status from the outside mediators and procurers of grain.
Continue the topic of agrarian direction of the company, we should mention great results in farming. In comparison to the previous year, the company gathered early spring grain in two times bigger 150 ths.tn, not including corn. In 2007 gross output of grain was almost to 69 ths.tn.
Together, with the corn gross output of grain in 2008 reached to 162 ths.tn.
The increase of total output was caused by increase of the area under crops mostly in 34%, and with the middle productivity of 70%.
The crop capacity of barley was in 2.3 times bigger then during the last two years. We should mention that the bigger part of barley consists of height quality beer barley, grown from the best Czech sort seeds, gross output of which was 24 ths.tn.
The company achieved great results in growing rapeseed over 21 ths.tn (in 5.5 times bigger then in 2007). The same success was achieved in gathering wheat over 88 ths.th. (two times bigger than the previous year).
In separate farms, which have been a part of the company for a long time, thanks to their experience and potential, a ponderable results had been made, which are bigger than sector average over the company. Respectively the crop capacity of winter wheat in TzOV "Nuva" grew to mostly 58 centnere/hectare, the productivity of rapeseed in ZАТ "Zahidago" – 39 centnere/hectare, bear barley in ТzOV "Nuva" – much more than 52 centnere/hectare. We would like to point out that indexes of the productivity over the company are higher then the middle one in Ukraine - 35 centnere/hectare.
The realization of powerful investigation program in 2008 was the result of such achievement. From the beginning of 2008 the company renovated its agricultural machinery park to the sum of $11 millions, buying 39 units of highly developed machinery of the western production: 4 tractors, the newest 11 grain combines, 4 sugar beet combines and 2 sugar beet gathering loads, a lot of sowing machines and tractor-drawn implements.
At the present time we can surely say that agrarian direction of the company together with the sugar manufacturing became to be the main business in the group of companies “Dakor”.
Despite of the present problems in sugar production, “Dakor” remained its leading position in Ukrainian market.
During the season 2008 in CJSC “Zakhidna Kompaniya “Dakor” worked three sugar mills - in Zolochiv, Dubno and Kremenets. Those mills had to be repaired and modernized during the last year, because of paramount importance of energy economies in the production, upgrading the prepared product and all the production complete automation.
Totally the company inputs more than $6.5 million on modernization of the sugar mills. The new press, equipment for making granulate residue and centrifugal machine were bought.
On the 27 of October Dubno sugar mill ( TzOV “Nuva”) was the first enterprise in CJSC “Zakhidna Kompaniya “Dakor” which received certificate of quality according to the international standard ISO 9001:2000.
Every year the area of sowing sugar beet increases in the company. The company follows the strategic purpose fully providing mills power by own raw material. In comparison to 2007 the amount of own gathered sugar beet was 76%, in 2008 it rose to 89%. The total sugar beet gross was 640 ths. tn.
The company gathered 720 ths.tn. of sugar beet, which was manufactured to 88 ths.tn. of sugar in season 2008. The achieved result had put the company to the fifth place in Ukrainian market, taking 6% of it.
Besides the main direction of activity sugar and agrarian, CJSC “Zakhidna Kompaniya “Dakor” don’t stop to develop other directions. For example, company has bought German equipment for new factory. It will be situated in company entity ZAT “Nadrabydinvest”, in Ternopil district. The factory will produce mineral powder, used while road building and it will widen the number of materials, produced by the company (besides the limestone, sand and broken stone). The start of new factory pertains to EURO-2012 and is very important for company.
The new base for next results was laid in 2008. The group of CJSC “Zakhidna Kompaniya “Dakor” has sown more then 32 ha of winter grain, and prepared 12.1 ths.ha for sowing sugar beet. The total expenses for the unfinished production in 2009 were of 48 million, UA.
